My World Record Dive Bid
I used to be a lot of things: A Royal Engineer and a commercial diver. I served in the Gulf War. I was a go-getting-nothing-bothers-me sort of guy. But not so much these days.
Two tragedies, including the death of a friend in a diving accident, as well as the loss of my sister, post-traumatic stress disorder and a charge for assault have left me less confident and more prone to anxiety and low self-esteem.
Thanks to the charity Veterans In Action I am getting back on my feet and turning my life around. The help people like me who are suffering with PTSD.
Next year I plan to take on a World record-breaking attempt that I never imagined I'd dare to do. I haven't dived since my friend died in that accident. So I am planning to face my biggest fear and attempt to break the long-standing record of 100 hours under water.
100 hours is 4 days and 4 hours. I want to aim for 5 days underwater.
This is going to be a huge challenge. Please sponsor my bid and give generously to a charity that has saved many lives.
